Lauri McKay Bevan – Executive Director
Lauri McKay Bevan is a certified arts educator with experience teaching students from pre-K through high school. She is also a professional actor, director, and produced playwright, and served as administrator for a multi-state non-profit social service organization helping at-risk teens. This combination of experiences in education, the arts, and non-profit management make her well qualified to bring IFW to its next phase.

 

Susie Hyman – Program Director
Susie Hyman brings a combination of management skills and education experience to IFW. Drawing on her degree in Scientific Nutrition from Texas A&M University, she developed a WIC nutrition clinic in Huntsville, Texas, building participation to over 800 clients in two years. She subsequently served as a community nutrition advisor in Fort Worth, including teaching an eight-week education program on nutrition and food safety to first grade students in FWISD. Following that she was a math tutor and then a full-time teacher for students with special educational needs in Kindergarten to fourth grade in FWISD.

 

Cynthia Andrews, PhD , Curriculum Specialist
Education expert Cynthia Andrews creates the “ImagineGuides” that Imagination Fort Worth distributes to classroom teachers and students, as well as designs surveys and analyzes data/outcomes for measuring program efficacy. Andrews earned a Master’s Degree in Studio Art from the Glasgow School of Art, and a  Ph.D. in Contemporary Art Research/Creative Industries from the University of Ulster.

 

Rachel Parnell – Production Manager
Rachel Parnell graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently a working artist with experience in facilitating creative, multidisciplinary arts activities and culinary lessons for children and adults. She has served as a volunteer resident artist at Cook Children’s Medical Center as well as The Arc of the Arts studio in Austin,Texas where she cultivated relationships with adult artists with cognitive and physical disabilities. She is passionate about the ability art has to bridge gaps in culture and education and loves to utilize art as a vessel for giving back to the community.
